Character Name: Souji Seta
Fandom: Persona 4
Age: 17
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation (if applicable): Straight
Physical Appearance:
<a href="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b67/RMarques/Souji.jpg> Full body picture Souji is tall, standing at around 180 cm, with grey/silver hair styled in a variation of a bowl cut and grey eyes. He usually has a calm expression on his face, that may borderline on emotionless, however, he by no means hides his emotions. Usually, his attire consists of his school uniform, whose jacket is never buttoned up, neither are the top two buttons of his shirt, which is usually not tucked in. Personality and Traits: Overall, he’s a nice and caring guy, even if he may come off as a bit of a jerk or arrogant, mostly by either making people do or say things they should when they don’t want to. A bit on the quiet side, more of a listener than a talker, but he makes it very obvious that he cares for his friends and family, and helps them out whenever possible, in whatever ways he can. He’s by no means a loner, though, and has no problems socialising with people, even being a bit joker at times, such as asking if a friend wanted him to “bear it all” when she said he looked like the kind of person that had nothing to hide. He also seems to have a knack for saying the right thing at the right time (it may not necessarily be what people want to hear though, which brings us back to the point mentioned above). He’s pretty intelligent, and does well in both athletic and cultural clubs. He’s also not the kind of person that just stands there when his friends are being mistreated, or threatened, be it physically, or verbally, even if it means his own physical well being will be threatened. Brief History in Canon Souji is a regular Japanese high school student with workaholic parents. One day, they were assigned to work overseas for a year, and so, they decided to send him over to live with his mother’s brother and his daughter in the small rural town of Inaba. At first things go normally enough. He makes a few friends, two girls called Yukiko and Chie, and a guy called Yosuke, and all in all, it seems like it’ll be just a tranquil year in the country. Until a rather famous TV announcer is found dead hanging upside down on a TV antenna. This shakes up the once quiet town, and people start buzzing about the murder, and what the hanging may mean. There’s also a rumour that had been spreading among the students about the Midnight Channel. Supposedly, if you look into a TV during a rainy night at midnight, alone, you’ll see your soul mate. Chie convinces the boys to try it out. And that’s when things get weirder. First, Souji sees a rather familiar brown haired girl seemingly wearing his school’s uniform, then he hears a strange voice when he watches the image that appears on the screen. Then he finds out that he can put his hand through the TV screen, as if he was dipping it in water. Next day, he gets together with Chie and Yosuke where they discuss what they saw on the TV. As it turns out, they all saw the same thing, however, they didn’t hear any weird voices, and they laugh at him when he tells them about the TV. They decide to go to the local department store, since Chie remembered her parents were thinking of getting a new TV, and taking advantage of the size of a LCD TV, Souji shows them that he was telling the truth, much to their surprise, which turned into downright terror when he put his head in, and told them about a very spacious room on the other side. Yosuke and Chie freak out when they hear customers; Chie and Yosuke end up pushing Souji in, falling along with him. There they see what looks like a TV Studio shrouded in fog, and no exit in sight. Upon exploring it, they encounter a room with walls covered in posters with their face cut off, and a scarf hanging from the ceiling as a noose, with a chair nearby, as if someone was about to be hanged. They go back to the room they started in, and run into a strange creature that looks like a mascot bear. The bear tells them that this is his home world, and that people have been pushed in lately. He lets them out, and when they get out, they notice that the faceless posters they saw in the room were of a popular singer, that had been involved in a scandal with her husband and the murdered announcer. However, they decide not to think about it again. Next day, they hear that a schoolmate of theirs has been killed, much in the same way as the announcer was, much to Yosuke’s dismay, since that girl was someone he cared about. Yosuke reveals that he had suspicions that the girl they saw in the Midnight Channel was the same girl that died, and decides to go back to the world inside the TV to investigate. And that’s when things begin to escalate more than they ever thought it would. They’re attacked by fearsome creatures called Shadows, and Souji awakens to a mysterious powers called Persona. Yosuke ends up getting the same powers, albeit in a very different way. And as more of their schoolmates begin to appear in the Midnight Channel, they find themselves trying to solve a crime that not even the police can catch. Strengths/Abilities: Souji is very proficient with his sword, being both accurate and quick while using it. While his strength, and overall speed are not exactly above that of a regular human on their own, he is very well trained physically, both due to his exploits in the TV world, and his participation in the school’s soccer team. In canon, he is the only member of the team capable of using multiple personas, so he can adapt to their situation quickly, changing from an active fighter, to a supporter within seconds. He is also a good leader, able to calmly tell others what to do when necessary and his orders tend to prove vital for success. Socially, he seems to have a knack to saying the right thing for the right situation, even if people don’t want to hear it at the time. He’s also a very good cook. Weaknesses/Faults: He sometimes caves and say what people want to hear rather than what they need or what he truly feels. Also, while he is indeed a skilled leader, he tends to put his own safety in second place, being more concerned with making sure his friends come out of their battles alive and well. His ability to use multiple Personas can also be seen as a weakness, as each Persona has its own set of strengths and weaknesses, so a simple miscalculation and he can be defeated as easily as any enemy. However, lacking them is also a weakness, since while he is in very good shape, and is by no means a bad fighter with his sword alone; not being able to use his Personas prevents him from using the more defensive powers to protect himself and his friends from attacks, and to heal any wounds. Items Brought With Them (anything aside from the clothes on their back): A sword, and a pair of kunai.
